Commitment is the inner drive that enables you to move forward and take action towards a goal. My self-determination towards my education allows me to get the assignment done and on time. It also allows me to push myself beyond what is expected through personal responsibility. Holding this type of work style will make a difference in my life in many ways. I will use my education to make a difference by volunteering in places that is needed.

Area of Study:  Chemistry

Career Goal:  Dentist

Not only do I want to be the first in my family to be a dentist, but I also want to be the first to attend and graduate from college. As an African American young woman from a historically dis-empowered and low socio-economic neighborhood, people doubt that I will succeed in becoming a dentist. However, I know their negativity will not hinder me.

College:  CSU East Bay

Area of Study:  Kinesiology

Career Goal:  Athletic Trainer

I am a product of my environment. My life has made me into a focused, resilient, and resolute young man. I’ve been through a lot and I’ve struggled and with that I will conquer anything I face In the future.
